I’ve been involved in arts and design projects with young people since 2003. I work freelance as a visual artist delivering a weekly drawing enrichment workshop through the Flux Arts Programme, and have led workshops for children in care and for the BBC's touring arts initiative, Blast. I am a bronze and silver Arts Award advisor.
My bias within youth arts work is toward exploring image-making as a communicative (more than an expressive) art form. I deliver workshops in basic visual art skills such as drawing, colour theory and ways of seeing, and develop these skills into problem-solving and visual communication
I teach KS3 Art at Isambard Community School and ICT and D&T graphic design input.
I am keen to find more work in schools, and part-time or visiting lecturer work at FE and HE levels. I have passed City&Guilds' first adult teaching course in readiness! I'm CRB checked, too!
