Ecolink.

In May 2009 Mainlink Couriers Limited bought the first of thier fleet of electric scooters to launched an environmentally-friendly, in-town courier service, with a fleet of non-polluting electric scooters.

First, the LOGO:

FLYER: Swindon Festival of Literature soon contracted the service to distribute leaflets and programmes – a bookmark/flyer was designed in keeping with the festival.

Our Swindon landscape device highlights the local nature of the company, and the colours became part of the Ecolink identity.

WEBSITE: It was important to have a web presence as soon as the first flyers went out, so a holding page was designed, and hosting arranged. The site was subsequently updated into a full website (see below).

BUSINESS LAUNCH: An email invitation was designed for Ecolink's launch party, featuring the landscape and colour palette helps both reinforce the courier's identity and saved Ecolink design time (which equals money!)

PRESS RELEASE: A press release was written to attract media interest from the local radio, press and web media...

The wait is over, you can now send you parcels and documents locally in an environmentally-friendly way and it won't cost you the earth!!  At  Mainlink  we have been working for sometime on this project and it's really great to see the Scooters running around Swindon silently, delivering consignments where just days before it was done using a noisy, polluting van.  We've had a lot of support and encouragement from clients, the media and Swindon Borough Council so it's been a real collaboration to say the least.  Many thanks are due to all, not least to my fellow colleagues at Mainlink.  We can also deliver larger consignments efficiently further afield in the UK and Internationally.  So to make your deliveries Zero Carbon do please give us a call on 01793-708010.

WEBSITE:

The Ecolink website was planned, written and designed liaising with a freelance web-programmer: deciding what information is useful to the viewer, while highlighting Ecolink's unique selling proposition; writing the copy, designing diagrams and graphics to illustrate the copy and ordering the information; designing the layout to both keep the Ecolink brand strong and ensuring the site is user-friendly.

ONGOING WORK:

Graphic design is visual communications – a mix of effective images and texts which get the message across. I continue to edit copy, direct photo-shoots, design flyers and signage for Ecolink.
